REV'IT! Rider: Raúl Fernández Rise to the Pinnacle of MotoGP

14-08-2026

When a rider shatters records in the feeder classes, the eyes of the entire motorcycle world follow them into the premier class. For Raúl Fernández, stepping up to MotoGP wasn't just the next step in his career... it was the ultimate proving ground for one of the most naturally gifted racers of his generation.

Today, as a flagship MotoGP athlete for the Trackhouse Racing Aprilia squad, Raúl represents the absolute pinnacle of sportbike performance.

For Australian trackday riders and sport enthusiasts, his journey in the main class provides a direct look at the high-speed safety tech developed for the world's most demanding grid.

The Step Up: Making It to the Main MotoGP Grid

After a historic 2021 Moto2 season where he won eight races, surpassing Marc Márquez’s record for the most victories in a rookie year, Raúl’s ticket to the main game was sealed.

1. Premier Class Debut (2022)

Raúl made his official MotoGP debut riding for Tech3 KTM Factory Racing. Adjusting to a 300+ horsepower prototype with carbon brakes and ride-height devices was a baptism by fire, but his raw speed was evident from day one.

2. The Aprilia Breakthrough (2023–2024)

Recognising his vast potential, Aprilia secured Raúl for their satellite project (CryptoDATA RNF, which transitioned into the American-backed Trackhouse Racing team). Adapting to the agile RS-GP, Raúl began consistently carving his way into the top 10 against factory-backed heavyweights.

3. Phillip Island Glory & Factory Backing

For us, Raúl’s defining premier-class moment came on local soil. Demonstrating incredible corner speed and tyre management around the sweeping bends of Phillip Island, Raúl captured his maiden MotoGP victory, giving Trackhouse Racing their first-ever win in the premier class and proving he belongs at the very top.

Tested at 350km/h: MotoGP Safety for Aussie Riders

The main MotoGP grid isn't just a spectacle... it’s REV'IT!’s ultimate R&D facility. Dropping a knee at 60-degree lean angles and reaching speeds over 350km/h requires gear that offers absolute freedom of movement while providing uncompromising protection.

The technology Raúl relies on in MotoGP directly flows down into the REV'IT! sport gear available across Australia:

  • Monaco Performance Leather: High-abrasion construction designed to slide predictably and dissipate heat during high-speed track spills.
